About Me
ITechnology has always interested me and I am happy to now be teaching those technological skills to our scholars.
This is my 13th year working here at Douglass Elementary. My first year was spent teaching fifth grade and the following six years were spent in third and fourth grades.
I was then given the opportunity to move into the technology realm. Since that time I have been working with scholars to learn ways other than tests to show what they have learned.

Week of April 30-May 4, 2018
Here is what is going on:
Kindergarten - Scholars are beginning to learn ways to use Book Creator. We have just started off with inserting a photo and text. We will continue to add text as we decide what we want to say about our school year.
1st and 2nd Grades - Scholars are going to be using Stop Motion to create short movies during last couple weeks of school. They are learning about the way animated movies used to be made with individual drawings and then taking photos of those drawings to stream them into a movie. We have started off easily with objects rolling down hills.
3rd - Scholars are learning to program sprites to draw on the computer screen. In order to do this, we are learning about the X and Y axis on a computer screen, along with both positive and negative movement on the computer screen. This will allow them to program how they want a sprite to move and they want it to do.
We are now adding onto this learning of coordinates to have a sprite draw on the screen. It can be set up to draw by using the mouse keys or it could also be used to create a drawing that is pre-programmed.
4th - Scholars are choosing a program which they want to emulate from the Scratch library. They are choosing programs that interest them between games, conversing sprites, and drawing programs.
5th - Scholars are going to continue work on their kindergarten programs. The time schedule has shortened due to the tight time schedule here at the end of the year, but the programs are already shaping up to look great.
Yearbook: Scholars are getting very close to having the book done. We still have make up photos to take. The team is working as hard as they can so that it can be done before the year ends.
Robotics: Hopefully we can create a time for the scholars to test out their robots in the maze. Due to a schedule change, the prior time reserved for robotics is no longer available.
