4th Graders

Learning & Fun

Meet The Teacher:
My name is Rebecca Wallisch and I teach fourth grade. This is my fourth year at Douglass. This year, we have implemented flexible seating. This means that our classroom looks a little different than a usual classroom. You won't see desks in rows. Rather, you will see bean bags, pillows, tables, standing desks, and comfy chairs. This helps the kids work where is most comfortable for them. This increases learning time and comfort for students.

How We Work

This year in math, your kid will learn more strategies for multiplication and division. We will learn about the algorithms for these operations, as well as different strategies to improve number sense. We will learn how to add and subtract fractions, how to measure angles in geometry, and strategies for solving a variety of word problems.

In reading, we will learn in depth about characters' motivations and traits. They will learn how to analyze any text and notice characteristics in different genres.

The most important thing you can do for your kid is read with them every night! Please feel free to reach out to me through email (rebecca.wallisch@kckps.org) at any time. Let's work together to make this year the best year yet!

We design great websites and all sorts of interactive products from start to finish
